Registry of Flats Fails to Spark Interest as Election Issue in NCR

The stage is set for the General Elections in the country and one could be thinking what could be the main election issues this time, specially in the NCR region – Inflation ? / Unemployment ? / CAA? Uniform Civil Code? / Ram Mandir ? etc. etc. …… the answer could be any or these or none of these.
But the stark reality is that the real estate issue, specially or incomplete housing projects, non-registry of thousands of flats of hapless buyers where they have put the entire earnings of their lives, is certainly not an election issue at all.
Candidates from all parties are visiting various residential societies from time to time and residents are raising these issues in front of them, literally pleading with them to do something about it. As usual, the answer from the candidates is yes and they tell residents that they are indeed serious about this issue as it is a real one.
But the matter of fact remains that this NCR, which has seen many State Assembly elections and General Elections, residents fully know that these are just simple election promises and will fade away when results come in. The winner will be backing in glory for the next five years and the losers would be sulking indoors. No candidate would be coming back to residential societies to fulfill their promises as after all this is the fallacy of it…..
