During a late-night operation, Noida Police swooped in on a farmhouse in Sector 135, detaining over half a dozen individuals, including two women, on suspicion of unauthorized liquor and hookah service, as per officials. The police were tipped off about the gathering through a social media post.
Acting swiftly, a police team raided the farmhouse under the jurisdiction of Expressway Police Station between Friday and Saturday night, seizing significant quantities of illicit liquor and hookah. Authorities were alerted by posts circulating on various social media platforms hinting at an unlawfully organized farmhouse event.
“Information came from Sector 135. A video had surfaced on social media depicting an illegal party, prompting our intervention,” stated Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra.
Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered numerous non-residents partaking in the festivities, with organizers allegedly serving alcohol. Initially purported as a song launch event, further investigation revealed discrepancies, alongside the confiscation of sizable hookah paraphernalia.
Additional DCP Mishra disclosed that several individuals were apprehended, their identities under scrutiny. “Two women and several men are in custody; their identities are under verification. They’ve been brought to the police station, where an inquiry has been instigated. Subsequent measures will be determined accordingly,” he affirmed.
Efforts were made to reach the farmhouse owner, only to ascertain that the organizers lacked the necessary temporary or occasional license. Further updates on this matter are anticipated.
