CBI arrests two senior Officials of RBL Bank in bribery case of Rs. 30 Lakh

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Regional Head, Agro Division, Ratnakar Bank Ltd Ahmedabad and Recovery Head, Ratnakar Bank Ltd Pune in a bribery case of Rs.30 lakh. CBI spokesperson R C Joshi said a case was registered on a complaint against the accused on the allegations of demanding undue advantage of Rs. One Crore for issuing a Valuation Certificate.
It was further alleged that the complainant alongwith his 12 family members applied for Agri Term Loan under the Development of Commercial Horticulture through Production and Post Harvest Management of Horticulture Scheme of National Horticulture Board, in which government give subsidy @ 50 % of the total project cost limited to Rs. 56 Lakh for each project. Due to non availability of subsidy, all the agri term loan of the complainant & his family members became NPA and for availing Subsidy, a Valuation Certificate for mortgaged properties was required. It was also alleged that the bribe was settled to Rs. 30 Lakh on negotiation.
CBI laid a trap and caught Nimesh Manger, Regional Head, Ratnakar Bank Ltd, Ahmedabad for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 30 Lakh. Later on Saurabh Bhasin, Recovery Head, Ratnakar Bank Ltd Pune was also caught. Searches were conducted at five locations including at Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi at the office & residential premises of both accused .
