Human Rights Protection

Though India gained independence over more than seven decades ago, Human Rights is one issue that remains to be much abused and neglected. The police system we inherited is similar to the cruel law enforcers of the British Colonial Empire. 
A common man does not find himself comfortable even in entering a police station to lodge a complaint fearing the treatment which would be met out to the person in this place. A person searching for an address will travel some extra distance to ask about it from a commoner rather than a policeman standing beside the road. 
Newspapers and television news channels are full of stories of police excesses but the matters end as the stories end. We are here to take up stories of police excesses and harassment with higher authorities and the Human Rights Commission to ensure that those law enforcers who take law into their own hands are taken to task.
