Rs 1 crore 29 lakhs and counting, CBI registers case against Executive Engineer of Railways in bribery case
CBI carries out searches in 16 locations across the country

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against an Executive Engineer, South Western Railways, Bangalore and others including Railway contractors. It was alleged that the accused public servant accepted undue advantage from the contractors through bank accounts while handling/supervising works executed by the contractors. It was further alleged that illegal gratification to the tune of Rs. 1,29,00,000/- (approx) was received by the said public servant in his accounts and in the accounts of his family members from the contractors during the period from 2011 to 2019.
CBI spokesperson R C Joshi said that Searches were conducted at 16 locations including at Bangalore, Hubli, Mysore, Sangli, Nandyala & Rangareddy at the premises of accused & others which led to recovery of several incriminating documents.
Names of the accused:-
- Ghanshyam Pradhan, Executive Engineer, South Western Railways, Bengaluru;
- M Suryanarayana Reddy (private person);
- M/s Krishi Infratech, represented by M Suryanarayana Reddy, its partner, Bengaluru;
- Vangala Suryanarayana Reddy (private person);
- Unknown public servant(s) & private person(s).
Further investigation is on.
